The area covered by the city is 45 sq. mile (120 km2) and planning area of 278 sq. miles. 0.1 sq. mile of area is covered by water. It is situated 1190 ft above sea level. The city comprises of 48375 inhabitants. Male proportion in the population is 49.1 percent and that of female is 50.9 percent. Population density is 941.8 / sq. mile.
